Whether you’re looking for something competitive or just want to relax and enjoy the outdoors, these games are sure to keep you entertained!

1. Cornhole

One of the most popular lawn games out there, cornhole is a classic for a reason. Easy to learn and set up, this game can be enjoyed by people of all ages. All you need is a flat surface and two beanbags – one for each team. The object of the game is to toss the beanbags into the hole in the board, with points awarded for each successful shot. Cornhole is perfect for backyard barbecues or picnics in the park!

What You’ll Need:

-Two cornhole boards (one for each team)
-Eight beanbags (four for each team)
-A flat surface on which to play

How to Play:

Each team takes turns throwing their beanbags at the hole in their cornhole board, to get the bag through the hole or land on the board. Points are awarded for each successful shot, and the team with the most points at the end of the game wins!

Variations:

There are a few variations of cornhole that you can try out to mix things up. One is to play with teams of two, with each player throwing two beanbags per turn. Another is to have a set number of turns per game, instead of playing until one team reaches a certain score.

2. Spikeball

Spikeball is a newer and growing in popularity lawn game that’s perfect for summertime fun. All you need is the game set purchased with all pieces included to create the round game net. The object of the game is to volley back and forth with your partner, with the intention of scoring on the other set of partners. Similar to volleyball where the ball crosses the net, in Spikeball the ball bounces off the net making it challenging for the other partnership to receive the ball. When the ball drops during a team’s turn to receive and score, the point is awarded to the opposite team. Spikeball is a great game for tournament style play, and can be played on any type of surface!

What You’ll Need:

-A Spikeball game set (all pieces included)
-2 teams of 2
-A flat surface on which to play

How to Play:

The game starts by serving the ball at the Spikeball net so that it bounces back up at the opposing team. The receiving team then has 3 contacts to return to the ball back on the net to the serving team. The rally continues until one of the teams cannot return the ball. The winning team of each rally takes the next serve. Games are played to 21, you must win by 2 points. Review the official rule book for further instruction.

3. Giant Jenga

Giant Jenga is a newer lawn game that’s perfect for groups of all sizes. This giant version of the classic game is played with wooden blocks and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. The object of the game is to remove a block from the tower and place it on top, without toppling the entire structure. Giant Jenga is great for parties or family gatherings!

If you have ever played giant Jenga on natural grass, you know that the game can end in two ways: either with a huge build-up of blocks that come crashing down or with large divots being left in the grass. However, when you play on artificial grass, neither of these things will happen. The blades of artificial grass are much more closely knit together than those of natural grass, so there is less risk of a big crash. And, because artificial grass is not alive, there is no danger of leaving large dead patches behind.

Turf safe measures for playing giant Jenga:

-Place the turf on a level surface so that it does not wobble.
-Inspect the turf before starting to play to make sure there are no loose threads or damaged blades.
-Be careful when placing and removing the blocks from the tower, so as not to damage the turf.

What You’ll Need:

-A set of Jenga blocks (54 per team)
-A flat surface on which to play

How to Play:

Players take turns removing a block from the tower and placing it on top, careful not to topple the entire structure. The game ends when the tower falls, and the player who caused it to fall is the loser!

4. Bocce Ball

Bocce ball is a classic lawn outdoor game that’s perfect for summertime fun. All you need is a set of bocce balls and a marker – one for each team. The object of the game is to toss the bocce balls as close to the marker as possible, with points awarded for each successful shot.

While many people may not realize it, the surface you play bocce ball on is just as important as the ball itself. A quality surface will provide a consistent and even playing experience, while a poor surface can be uneven, full of holes, or otherwise unsuitable for the game. Of all the possible playing surfaces, artificial grass is by far the best option for bocce ball. Artificial grass has a smooth and exceptionally sturdy surface that provides fast play with minimal bounce. The durability of artificial grass doesn’t allow for the development of dips or holes that interfere with your game. In addition, artificial grass is easy to maintain and can be used in all weather conditions.

Turf safe measures for playing Bocce ball:

-Inspect the turf before starting to play to make sure there are no loose threads or damaged blades.
-Be careful when tossing the bocce balls, so as not to damage the turf.

What You’ll Need:

-A set of bocce balls (eight per team)
-A marker (one for each team)
-A flat surface on which to play

How to Play:

The game is played on a rectangular court that is typically around 60 feet long and 10 feet wide. To start the game, one team member rolls the Pallino down the court. Then, players from both teams take turns rolling their balls towards the Pallino. Points are awarded based on how close to the Pallino each ball is at the end of the turn. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.
